It is with heavy hearts
that the family of Kenneth George Jones announce his passing on April
29, 2026, at the age of 76. Born September 3, 1949, he was the son of
the late Alfred and Cora (Murphy) Jones of Roseville, PE. He
is survived by his loving wife, Gert (Shea) Jones, with whom he shared
over 50 years of marriage. Together they made their home in St. Peter
and St. Paul, PE, where Ken loved his neighbours and the community he
was part of.

Ken was a dedicated
teacher for 35 years, fondly remembered as "Mr. Jones". He
taught in Summerside, Callaghan, and Westisle, where he was known as a
passionate, patient and humorous math teacher. A lifelong
fitness enthusiast, Ken was known as the "marathon man",
completing numerous marathons, playing ball and hockey with the HAB
club in his prime, and remaining active at the Iron Haven Gym in
Alberton for many years. He was a devoted community member
who gave generously of his time to many committees and organizations
throughout the years. A faithful parishioner of St. Simon and St. Jude
Church in Tignish, and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Ken
lived his life grounded in faith. He enjoyed cheering on the
Toronto Maple Leafs, gardening, doing puzzles, playing cards with his
family, and spending time outdoors—especially raking
blueberries every season, eagerly helping his brother-in-law, Bill
with loading and unloading lobster gear each year. Ken always enjoyed
a good feed of lobsters or salt fish. Above all, he will be
remembered for his deep love of family, his kindness, and his
willingness to help others. Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved him.
