Valerie Ann Lanois (née German) of Alberton, PEI, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 15, 2024. Born to Donald and Gwen German on September 6, 1947, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Valerie was predeceased by her parents, infant sister, and her brother Donald. She was a cherished wife to Aurele for 58 years, and a devoted mother to Michael (Claire) and Christopher. Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as a loving grandmother to Bridget (Calvin), Lauren (Michael), Brycen and Jadyn.

Valerie’s early career as a nursing assistant reflected her caring nature. After starting her family, she became a beloved figure in Milton, volunteering her time in Scouting and Ladies’ Auxiliary. As well, serving as "Miss" Valerie, a lunch hour supervisor and YMCA care provider for local schools.

In 2015, Valerie and Aurele returned ‘home’ to their treasured cottage on Prince Edward Island, where she found great joy and serenity. Valerie’s warmth, dedication, and kindness will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and especially her ‘coffee shop’ buddies.

Valerie is resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday, August 20th, from 11am-12:30pm, with a prayer service and reception to follow.
