The death occurred at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary, on Monday, August 5, 2024 of Ida Jean Wells, formerly of Alberton, age 86 years. Born at South Kildare on August 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eliza (nee Jones) Wells.

Loving mother to Bobby (Barbara) McInnis of Anglo-Tignish, and Ivan (Edna) McInnis of Tignish. Dear grandmother to Nicholas McInnis, Stephanie (Aaron) Hogan, Vanessa (Daniel) Gallant, and Jerry McInnis. Great-grandmother to Indiana Hogan, Louis Hogan, Obeline Hogan, and Autumn Hogan. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Colleen McInnis, in 1986, and by her siblings, James, Ada, Wilson, Johnny, Edward, Albert, Mary, Hazel, Robert, George, and Irving.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from where a private family visitation and funeral service will be held, Rev. Ann Bush officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery.
