The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,
Summerside, PEI, of Sylvia Olive Gaudet of Alberton, and formerly of
Brockton, age 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Edmond Joseph Gaudet.
Born February 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Irving and
Levina (nee Cannon) Henderson.
Mother to Michael of Bedeque, Susan of Charlottetown, Barbara
of Dock Road, Stella (Terry) of Portage, June (Fabian) of Moose Jaw,
SK, Donna (Ron) of Cascumpec, Dorothy of O'Leary, Elaine (Allan) of
Tignish, and Wendy of Coleman. She is survived by 17
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her
many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings, Bonita
(Fred) Johnson of O'Leary, Leverne (James) Yeo of Cascumpec, Noelle
(Roy) McRae of Jude's Point, Angela (Doug) MacCallum of Brooklyn,
Loman (Esther) Henderson of Brockton, Doreen (Heber) Rayner of
Summerside, Valerie McInnis of Summerside, Nolan DesRoches of Deblois,
and Delbert Henderson of Elmsdale.
She was predeceased by siblings, Dale (in infancy), Sheldon,
and Debra.
Sylvia could always be found wearing her grey cardigan, and
knitting needles in her hands, making mittens for her family and for
anyone else who commented on her mittens. So think of her each time
you wear those mittens in the coming winter
months.
Sylvia's mind was strong, her heart was not. Thank you to all
the nurses and doctors who helped Sylvia during her
illness.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Family
visitation for children and grandchildren on Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:00
p.m. Public visitation from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday
morning from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at
10:30 a.m., Rev. Walter Flynn, Celebrant. Interment in the church
cemetery.
