With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Tonner, dedicated husband, and trucker. John departed this life peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, surrounded by his PEI family. His legacy of hard work and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

John was born to Thomas and Clara Tonner, now reunited with them in eternal peace, along with his siblings Tom, Willy, Gary, Milton, Leslie, Wayne, and Jane, who preceded him in death.

Throughout his life, John exemplified perseverance and dedication. He traveled countless miles as a trucker, delivering goods across many countries with unwavering commitment. In his leisure time he could be found tinkering and restoring old equipment and driving a dump truck.

John's presence was a source of joy and comfort to his nieces and nephews across Canada, who affectionately knew him as "Uncle John". His kindness and humor left an enduring impression on their lives. Their bond with John was marked by love, laughter, and shared experiences, enriching his life in countless ways.

John leaves behind cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cecelia Perry (Tonner). He is also survived by sisters, Barbara, Betty, Gwen, and Juanita. In addition, John is survived by his extended PEI family, including Eileen Perry, Rose Marie McAlduff, Bernice Perry, Carl Perry, Robert Perry, Cecil Perry, Cindy Gaudet, and Lisa DesRoches. Cecelia expresses her gratitude to the staff at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton and Prince County Hospital for their exceptional care during the recent weeks.

May his soul find peace in the eternal embrace, and may his memory continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him. Forever in our hearts, we will remember him.
