The death occurred peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Friday, February 9, 2024, of Rita Mary Perry, formerly of Tignish, aged 103 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Terrance Perry. Born at DeBlois, PEI, on November 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Richard) Perry. 

Dear mother to John Elmer (Arlene) Perry, of Norway, PEI, and  Carol (Nick) Wright, of Shag Bay. She is survived by her 10 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Lily, Margaret, Josephine, Henry, Joseph, Mae, Alphonse, Arthur, and Melonie.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No visitation by personal request. Funeral mass from St. Simon and St. Jude Church on Tuesday morning, February 13th at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.

The family would like to take the time to thank the wonderful staff of the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, for the excellent care and attention shown to their mother, Rita, during her stay there, especially to her dear friend, Carol Ann Gaudette.

The Tignish council of the C.W.L are asked to attend and form at body for their departed member at the church Tuesday morninmg at 10:30 a.m.
