The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, January 15, 2024, of Willard Francis Murphy, of Tignish, age 75 years. Beloved husband to Judy (nee Tremblay) Murphy. Born at Alberton, on March 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Geraldine (nee Gavin) Murphy.

Loving father to Ricky (Angel) Murphy, Sarah (Johnny) Strongman, and Gina Murphy. Cherished grandfather to Davy, Jarvis, Cameron, Morgan, and Tyra. Dear brother to Preston (Helen) Murphy, Ronnie Murphy, Ann (Jim) Crawford, Patsy Praught (Stewart), and Jean Rafferty (Leonard Deagle). He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Diana Dube, and by a brother-in-law, Raeburn (Lorraine) Tremblay.

Willard was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith (late Leamon) DesRoches, John Rafferty, and Frank Dube.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral on Thursday morning, January 18th, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.
