The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, of William Thane (Billy) Shea, of Tignish, age 84 years. Born at Pleasant View, PEI, on May 16, 1939, he was the son of the late Wilfred J. and Margaret (nee Gaudette) Shea.

Dear father to Howard Shea, of Tignish, and father-in-law to Janie Marie Shea, of Mill River. Stepfather to Floyd (Betty Anne) Gaudette, Roger (deceased) (Gail), Donna (late Sidney) Gavin, Lynn (Michael) Dorgan, Michael (Carol Anne) Gaudette, and Rodney (Sheila) Gaudette. He is survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and by his many friends and and aquaintances.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (nee Keough) Shea, and by a dear friend, Elaine Bernard. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Rita Kennedy, Joan Layne, Margaret LePointe, Rev. Howard Shea, Rev. Claude Shea, Leonard Shea, Leigh Shea, Clifford Shea, Sidney Shea, Elaine Glover, and Barbara Landrigan.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning, December 19th, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
