The death occurred Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O'Leary, with her loving family by her side, of Lorraine Mary Winters, beloved wife of Alan Erland Winters, of Christopher Road, Tignish, age 87 years. Born February 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Gaudet) McCue.

Dear mother of Wade Winters, of BC, and Heather (Gussie) Bernard, of Pleasant View. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Natalie (Mike) Arsenault, Melanie Winters, Tyler Winters (Emma), Danielle Winters (Mike), Natasha (Adam) Palmer, Dyson Bernard, Kali Bernard, and Devon (Kalyn) Bernard. Cherished great-grandmother to Annie and Ellie Buote, Daxton and Kieran Magee, Easton Coughlin, Emmett and Waylon Palmer, and Adeline Bernard. Dear sister to Mae (Ron) Carter, Mabel Matthews, and Wilfred McCue. Sister-in-law to Shirley Murphy, Earl (Sheila) Winters, and David (Paula) Winters.

She was predeceased by a daughter Karen Arsenault, and great-grandson, Oliver Buote (in infancy), her parents Albert and Mary (Gaudet) McCue, her mother and father-in-law, Erland and Marion (McRae) Winters, her sister, Winnifred (Velton) Thibodeau, and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Shirley McCue, Earl Matthews, and Raymond Murphy.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for visiting hours Saturday, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by a funeral service from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, at 7:00 pm, Rev Ross Morrison officiating. Interment later in the Tignish United Church Cemetery.
