The death occurred peacefully, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Communiuty Hospital, O'Leary, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, of John Herbert (Johnny) Powers, of 239 O'Rourke Road, Greenmount, PEI, age 72 years. Born at Alberton on December 2, 1950, he was the son of the late Herbert and Theresa (Tessie, nee Richard) Powers.

Dear brother to Clarence, of Greenmount, and Wilfred (Ann) Richard, of Mt Stewart. He was predeceased by siblings, Billy, Darlene, and Shirley. He is also survived by his cousins and by his many friends.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No visitation by personal request. Funeral mass Friday morning, August 25th from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
