The death occurred peacefully, on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Western Hospital, Alberton, of Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Haywood, of Mill River, in her 88th year. Born on September 26, 1935, she was the wife of the late Roy Haywood, and the daughter of the late Donald and Jeanetta (Easter)  MacAusland.

Dear mother of Russell, and Christine Haywood-Perry (Justin), and daughter-in-law, Cindy Haywood. Special grandmother to Ryan (Sarah Collins) Haywood, Jillian (Jordan) Shields, Scott (Laura) Haywood, Justina (Sheldon) Gaudet, and Curt Perry. Beloved Gaga of Brynn Perry, Brielle and Adalynn Gaudet, Tori Shields, and Gabriel Haywood. Dear sister-in-law of John MacDonald, Wes (Margaret) Collicutt, and Beverley MacAusland. Special cousin of Millie Edwards and family. She will be missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and her dog, Anna.

Predeceased by brother, Robert MacAusland, sister, Genevieve MacDonald, grandson, Jared Perry, and brother and sister-in-law, Ralph Haywood, Belle Collicutt, and parents-in-law, Russell Haywood and Edith (Vernon) Campbell. 

Resting at Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for funeral service at E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ross Morrison officiating. Interment at Bloomfield United Church Cemetery.
