The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor Alberton on Saturday, July 29, 2023,with loving family by her side of Gertrude Edna Hutt, formerly of Northport, aged 93 years. she was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Ainsley Hutt. Born at Elmsdale, PEI, June 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Aletha (Currie) Matthews. Loving mother to Deb (John) Searle, Brian (Wendy) Hutt, and Lynn (deceased).

Much loved grandmother to Heather, Alana (Mike Welk), Katherine Searle, Brody (Katie) Hutt, Tiffany (Kevin) Bernard, and Matthew (Carrie) Ramsay. Great-grandmother to Ava, Blake, Will, Ben, Morgan, Kolby, Kameryn, Kenzie, Autumn, Serenity, Clara, and Caleb.

Predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Aletha (Currie) Matthews, husband, William, sister, Vivian Carson, and daughter, Lynn.

Resting at Rooney's Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Private family interment in Hillcrest United Church Cemetery on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Erasmus Madimbu officiating.
