The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, on Monday,
June 19, 2023, at 1:45 a.m., of Rollie Linus Mackey, of Greenmount,
PEI, age 71 years. Beloved life partner to Joann Tuplin. Born at
Alberton, PEI, on March 27, 1952, he was the beloved son of Alfred and
Mary (McMillan) Mackey, of Greenmount.
Loving stepfather to Karen (Michael Martin) Tuplin, of Myrick
Shire, Elton (Amanda) Tuplin, of Freeland, Bev (Terry) Peters, of
Clearmont, and Sandy (Chris) Smallman, of O'Leary. Cherished Grampie
to Tegan (Joel) Dyment, Morgan (Steven) Hackett, Tyson Ashley, Madison
(Tyson) Smallman, Bryar (Shannon) Smallman, Emma Smallman, Preston
Smallman, Harrison Smallman, Easton Smallman, Sydney Gallant Caullum,
Braydan Tuplin, Dylan Tuplin, and Corbin Tuplin. Great-grandfather to
Foster Carragher, Nash Dyment, and Lainey Dyment. Dear brother to
Leigh (Judy) Mackey, Ontario, Claude Mackey, Greenmount, Beverley
(Carl) Ellsworth, Alberton, and Donna (Les) Zaba, Alberton. He is also
survived by sisters-in-law, Hazel (late James) Mackey, and Marjorie
(late Lloyd) Mackey. Along with Eddy (Bev) Annand, Bob (Colleen)
Annand, Debbie (Emmett) Gallant, Edna (Brian) Dennis, Davy (Carla)
Annand, Hassie (late Randy) Palmer, Heather (Dale) Strongman, Carl
(Mike) Annand, and Tracy (Paul) Grady. He will be sadly missed by his
many nieces and nephews, friends, and by his many
acquaintances.
He was predeceased by siblings, Theresa Mackey, James Mackey,
Lloyd Mackey, Adeline (late Louie) Gallant, Mary (late Lionel) Gaudet,
Bernice (late Linus) Conway, Roy Mackey, and Ben Mackey. Also
predeceased by his in-laws, Art and Rose Annand, and brother-in-law,
Richard "Ricky" Annand.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. As
requested by the family, there will be no visiting hours. The funeral
will be held Thursday afternoon, at Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for
mass at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant officiating. Interment in the
church cemetery.
