The death occurred peacefully, at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Saturday, April 29, 2023, of Sylvere Peter Arsenault, formerly of the Western Road, Tignish, age 96 years. Beloved husband to Doreen Theresa (nee O'Neill) Arsenault. Born at Tignish on  May 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Thimothy J. and Catherine M. (nee Perry) Arsenault.

Loving father to Marie (Lorne) Doyle, of Tignish, Doris Arsenault, of Tignish, and Tracy (Reggie) Palmer, of Ellerslie. Cherished grandfather to Lorna (Matt) DesRoches, of Alberton, Mandy (Jason) Gaudet, of Tignish, Trina (Marvin) Stavart, of Cairns Road, Alicia (Nick) Doucette, of Nail Pond, Doug (Breanna) Palmer, of Ellerslie, Tyson (Jacqueline) Palmer, of Ellerslie, and Rebecca (Tanner) MacAusland, of Kensington. Great-grandfather to Mitchell (Simone) Arsenault, Joey (Kayla) Arsenault, Jayden (Kierston) Gaudet, Marlie (Kelby) DesRoches, Ellie Gaudet, Bradley Donahue, Addison Donahue, Benson Silliker, Owen Silliker, Colin Doucette, Nash Palmer,  Gabby Palmer, Beau Palmer, Alayah Palmer, and Kenley MacAusland. Great-great-grandfather to Weston and Easton Arsenault, Josie, and Kylie Arsenault, and Dallas Gaudet. He is also survived by a sister, Alma Konwinski, of Michigan. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and by his many friends.

He was predeceased by an infant son in infancy, and by siblings, Emelda (Arthur) Gaudet, Eva (Josie) Perry, Cecilia (James) Lafreniere, and Joseph.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral on Monday May 1, 2023, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 3:30 p.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.
