The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, with his loving family by his side, of Nelson Joseph Gaudet, of the Rev. W.J. Philips Residence, Alberton, and formerly of Tignish Shore, age 86 years. Born at Tignish shore on October 11, 1936, he was the son of the late Cyril Joseph and Edna Mary (nee DesRoches) Gaudet.

He was predeceased by his loving partner Rita Perry, in 2022.

He is lovingly remembered by his 11 Perry stepchildren. Dear brother to Kathleen (LeRoy) Doucette, of Deblois, Austin (Velda), of Alberton, Shirley Pitre, of Toronto, Austena Doucette, of Tignish, Doreen (Claude) Robichault, of  Nackawic, NB, Debbie (Henry) Chaisson, of Alberta, Leonard (Audrey), of Charlottetown, Sandra James, of Red Deer, AB, Theresa (Norman) Legere, of Toronto, Velda (Ron) Legere, of Mass., USA, and Ann (Rick) Walsh, of Toronto. He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by siblings, Irene Arsenault, Auldine Bernard, Eunice McFadgen, Barbara Ann Gaudet, and Cyril Jr. He was also predeceased by a stepson, Patrick Perry.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton.Funeral on Saturday Morning February 11,2023 from St.Simon and St.Jude Church Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Rev.John Molina celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery. No visitation by personal request.
