In the early morning hours of Friday, January 27, 2023, Susan Roberta Mills (nee Gray), of Woodstock, passed peacefully at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary, PEI. Susan was born in Toronto, Ontario, on July 29, 1947, to Norman and Hazel Gray.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Mills (Sheldon Clohossey), sister Marlene Pinkerton, of Whitby, ON, nieces, Lisa and Tara, nephews, Norman, David, and Sean, and brother-in-law, Eugene Ballentine.

Susan is joining her loving husband, Reg Mills, who passed in March 2018. She is also predeceased by her parents, Norman and Hazel, sister, Janet, brother-in-law, Cecil, and dear nephew, Danny.

Susan was a deeply loving wife, mother, and member of her community, in Markham, ON, until moving to PEI in 2015, where she enjoyed a quiet retirement with her husband, Reg.

Susan's love and devotion to her family and loved ones was a constant inspiration to those around her. She was compassionate, caring, she had a warmth and a witty sense of humour, personified in her wry smirk when she found something funny. She nurtured those in her care, and gave unending support, only asking the same in return.

An avid artist and creative person, Susan was skilled in many forms of expression, drawing, knitting, etc. Despite the challenges of her condition, in her later years Susan picked up her paint brushes and created numerous wonderful pieces.

Susan embodied perserverance, with the many challenges life brought her way, she never faltered, and stood to face them head on. Never to be told what she could or could not do, she would show you what she was capable of. She will be dearly missed by all those her life has touched.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 31st, at Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, PEI.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 1st, at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, PEI.

Donations can be made to the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary PEI.
