The death occurred peacefully, at her home, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, of Florence Elizabeth Buote, of Conroy Road, Tignish, age 85 years. Born on November 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Paul and Hanora Ellen (nee Doyle) Buote.

Dear mother to Jenny (Malcolm) McGeachy, of Cambridge, ON. Loving grandmother to Shawn and Braedon McGeachy. Great-grandmother to Emma and Parker. Dear sister to Irene Gaudette of Toronto. Florence is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Dale (Barb) Gaudette, Doug (Nadine) Gaudette, Duane (Lillian) Gaudette, Pat (Pamela) Gaudette, Della (Glenn) Sweet, Dena Bernard, Melany (P J) Doherty, and Jasmine Doucette. She is also survived by her cousins, friends, and by her grand-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Patrick, nephew, Donald Gaudette, and great-niece, Sydney Gaudette.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday evening, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Monday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
