With his loving family by his side, Roy Joseph Cahill, died
peacefully, at the Intensive Care Unit of the Prince County Hospital,
on November 20, 2022. Roy, aged 83, of Central Kildare, was born on
September 21, 1939, to Parnell and Margaret (A'Hearn)
Cahill.
Roy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean (Vincent)
Cahill, his daughters, Cathy (Chris Evans), Pauline (Calvin Caunt),
Paula (Erick Gaudet), Donna (Chris Murphy), Nancy (Dean Getson), and
Joanne (Mark MacNeil); his precious grandchildren: Sam, Zenna, Ben,
Hunter, Danny, Cyrena, Matthew, Callie, Ryan, and River; and his fur
babies: Charlie and Finn. Roy is survived by his siblings: Evoila
(Keith) Peters, Myra Adams, Dorothy Thibert, and Wendell (Lucy)
Cahill; and by his sister-in-law, Nadine Cahill, along with many
nieces, nephews, and grandnieces/nephews. Roy was predeceased by his
parents, Parnell and Margaret Cahill, his father and mother-in-law,
Ralph and Edith Vincent, grandson, Jerry Roy LeClair, brother,
Holland, niece, Annette Thibert, and brothers-in-law, Ernie Adams, and
Charles Thibert.
Roy was a lobster fisherman for 51 years, an avid hunter,
bass and trout fisher, card player, and the best storyteller. He was
adored by his family and will be fondly remembered for his kind and
generous spirit. He touched many lives, and will be always in our
hearts.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, with
visiting hours Tuesday, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass Wednesday
morning from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, with funeral mass at
10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendan Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the church
cemetery.
