Peacefully at
Andrews of Summerside, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, with family by
her side, of Rita Mary (Kelly) Dunn. Devoted and loving wife of the
late Harry Dunn, formerly of Elmsdale, PEI. Rita was the daughter of
the late Paulinus and Regina (O'Halloran) Kelly, of Roseville, PEI.
Cherished
mother of Betty (Paul) MacDonald, Lower Montague, PEI, Raebern
(Debbie) Dunn, Elmsdale, PEI, Paula (Wayne) Clark, Summerside, PEI,
and Gerarda (Tim) Bernard, Okotoks, AB.
Loving
grandmother to Sarah (Josh), Paula (Bryce), Kelly (Greg), Raeanne
(Tyler), Gary (Priscille), Marney (Dawson), Andy (Emily), Ian
(Courtney), Jenna (Keith), Julie (Mike), Lisa (Brandon), Brett
(Breanna), and Lori (Cal). Great-grandmother to Riley, Ella, Lauren,
Keira, Kayla, Dani, Mac, Charlie, Parker, Carter, Celine, Chantelle,
Liam, Morgan, Austin, Rae, and Clara.
Rita was
predeceased by her brothers, Gerard and Raymond Kelly. She is survived
by sisters-in-law, Mary Kelly, Halifax, NS, and Lorraine Dunn, of
Elmsdale, PEI.
Rita supported
her husband, Harry, in developing a successful family farm operation
over the years. Besides her family and farm duties, Rita was an
elementary school teacher. She shared her passion for learning with
many children over the years, and treated everyone with love and
respect. Rita was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League.
She was a community minded person, and was a member of the Women's
Institute.
Thank you to
the staff at Andrews of Summerside for the kindness and caring shown
to Rita while she was a resident.
Resting at the
Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, with private family visitation by
personal request. Public funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Parish,
Alberton, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to
follow in the church cemetery.
As an
