The death occurred peacefully fully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, August 14, 2022, with his loving family by his side, of Clifford  Daniel Gavin, of Tignish, age 79 years. Beloved husband to the late Dora Mary (nee Gavin) Gavin. Born at Saint John, NB, on March 22, 1943, he was the son of the late Daniel P. and Bessie N. (nee Bernard) Gavin.

Cherished father to Rick (Silvana), of Brampton, ON, Brian (Marlene), of Tignish, Clifford, in infancy, Mike (Stephanie), of Tignish, Scotty (Patty), of East Stewiacke, NS, and Kelly (Malcolm) Pitre, of Christophers Cross. Loving grandfather to Cassandra, Andrew, Conner, Kyle, Cameron, Seth, Daniel, Carter, Addison, Karlie, Blake, and Mitchell (deceased). Dear brother to Nadine Ramsay (deceased August 14, 2022), Gary (Lee Ann), of Alberton, and Austin (Clarence), of Saint John, NB. Stepbrother to Fred (Bev) McElhiney of Alberton. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances, especially the extended Gavin family.

He was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Cletus and Laura Gavin, and his stepmother, Ethel McElhiney.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass on Wednesday, August 17th, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10;30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund, or to the West Prince Caring Cupboard would be gratefully appreciated.
