The death occurred peacefully, at her late residence, on Friday, June 24, 2022, of Ferne Belle Gordon, beloved wife of Robert Douglas Gordon, of Elmsdale, age 82 years. Born at Elmsdale, PEI, on March 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Ethel (nee Warren) Matthews.

Loving mother to Kevin (Darlene) of Summerside. Cherished grandmother to Bobby Joe (Josee) of Alma, and Jill (Nick) Heer, of Summerside. Great-grandmother to Brayden  Arsenault, Ella Heer, Claire Heer, Brianne Gordon, and Luke Gordon. Dear friend to Marie and Frank Luttrell, of Roseville and Diane and Allan Weir, of Woodvale. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances. 

She was predeceased by siblings, Erskine and Shirley Matthews, Benny Matthews, and Dorothy and Earl Currie, and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Mary) Gordon, Alton (Martha) Gordon, Willard Gordon, Blanche and (Jack) Clark, Grace and (Elmer) Hamill, Christina Matthews, of Belleville, ON, and Wilna and (Norman) Warren.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Funeral on Sunday, July 3, 2022, from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Erasmus Madimbu officiating. Interment in the Elmsdale United Church Cemetery.
