The death occurred peacefully, in Summerside, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, with her loving family by her side, of Mabel Ethel Barnett (nee Jeffery), formerly of Elmsdale, age 97. Born at Lauretta, PEI, on February 17, 1925, she was the wife of the late William Alfred Barnett, daughter of Louis and Annie Jane (nee Cannon) Jeffery.

Loving mother of Myles (Dee), and grandmother,  to Shalyn (Ryan) Pinkham, and Tim Barnett. Step-grandmother to Mandy McCourt (Chris), and Katie Beaton (Alana). Dear Gram Gram to Rory Jane, Caroline, and Jonas. Also survived by her sister, Gladys Grant, of Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by daughter Carol, and siblings, Gordon, Harold, Sterling, Wilbert, Preston, and Eileen.

Special thanks to the staff of Andrews of Summerside, and the Medical Unit of the Prince County Hospital for their excellent care of Mabel.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Erasmus Madimbu officiating. Interment in the Elmsdale United Church Cemetery.
