The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, with her loving family by her side, of Irene Mary Gallant, beloved wife of the late Aubin J. Gallant of Tignish, age 87 years. Born at Tignish on November 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Urban J. and Catherine M. (nee LeClair) Gaudet.

Loving mother to Sharon (Pat) Shymanaski, Brenda Hennessy, Paul (Shannon), Maurice (Darla), Blair, Michele (Joey) MacDonald, and Yvette (Floyd) Gaudet. Cherished grandmother to Corey, Colon, Reasha, Steven, Julia, Vanessa, Janae, Brett, Carolyn, Natasha, Nathan, Laura, and Travis. Great-grandmother to Talia, Adira, Calum, Theo, Austin, and Samantha. Dear sister to Rita McInnis and Edward Gaudet.She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Friday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Greg Conway, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
