The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, with his family by his side, of Nelson Joseph Maillet of Central Street, Tignish, age 83 years. Born at Tignish on April 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Leo V. and Eva M. (nee Gaudet) Maillet.

Dear brother to Cecil (Gloria) of Summerside. Caring uncle to Johnathan (Leila) of Cornwall, PEI, and Mark (Christine) of Calgary. Great-uncle to Mackenzie, Parker and Kylie. He was predeceased by a brother, Slyvain Maillet.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel for a private family visitation (for family and invited guests) on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family funeral (for invited guests) on Wednesday morning, November 3, 2021, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
