The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, October 09, 2021, of Chester Joseph Handrahan, of Ascension, PEI, age 82 years. Beloved husband to Lena Marie (nee Perry) Handrahan. Born on February 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (nee A'Hearn) Handrahan.

Dear father to Sharon Horne, Arlene (Norman) Hackett, Shawn (Lesa) Handrahan and Lynn (Shawn) Cooke. Cherished grandfather to Kenzie (Jessica) Horne, Keaton Horne, Kendall (Paige) Hackett, Jake Hackett, Slade (Meaghan) Handrahan, Trace (Jenna) Handrahan, Silas, Handrahan, Gracyn Handrahan, Taylor Cooke, Alice Cooke, and Chelsey Cooke. Great-grandfather to Hank Hackett, Axel Horne and Theo Horne.

He is also survived by siblings, Marguerite (late Walter) Gavin, Doreen (Frank) Tucker and Frances (Brad) LeClair. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Aldona (Jackie) Morrissey, Frances Richard, Irma (Louis) O' Rourke, Lester Perry, and Inez Handrahan. Chester will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

He was predeceased by his siblings Edgar, Levi, Hubert, Ernest, Roy, James, Leonard, Mable Smith, Esther Harper, Hilda Karkus, Theresa Wosley and Sr. Geraldine Handrahan CND. He was also predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Edmond Perry, Peter Perry, John Perry, Alfred Fennessey, Edna Doucette, Shirley Kinch and Aurella Tremblay.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for private family visitation (for invited guests only) Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday morning (for family and invited guests) from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
