The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, with his loving family by his side, of David Alcide DesRoches, beloved husband of Florence Shirley (nee McCallum) DesRoches of Nail Pond, age 62 years. Born on September 18, 1958, he was the son of the late Alcide Joseph and Edith Mary (nee Buote) DesRoches.

Loving father to Amanda (Tim) Kember of Summerside and Brody at home. Cherished grandfather to Taylor Kember (Caleb) and Ariana Kember. Dear brother to Bonita DesRoches of St. Felix, Julie (Randy) DesRoches of Tignish, Cindy (Dr. Hal) McRae of Kildare, Michael (Kim) DesRoches of Greenmount, Tignish, Brian DesRoches of St. Felix, Karen (Barry) Crossman of Albany, and Derek DesRoches of St. Felix.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alcide and Edith DesRoches, and by a brother, Dennis DesRoches.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for private visitation Monday July 26th from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., then to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 4:00 p.m. (by invitation only), Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the Church cemetery.
