The death
occurred peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday,
July 15, 2021, with his loving family by his side, of Edgar Joseph
Gaudet, beloved husband to Eunice Mary (nee Perry) Gaudet of Maple
Street, Tignish, age 86 years. Born at Petersville, PEI, on December
19, 1934, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Beatrice M. (nee
Arsenault) Gaudet.
Loving father
to Norman (Ann), David (Noella), Stephen (Dianne), Brian (Cindy),
Wayne, Debbie (Brian) Myers and Joseph (deceased in
infancy). Cherished grandfather to Devin (Crystal), Janel
(Jarrett), Jessie (Carter), Dallan (Katie), Spencer, Mitch (Helen),
Albert (Kristen), Brett, Jeff, Michelle, Sarah, Jamie (Drew), Jasmine
(Bronson) and Jade. Great-grandfather to Hanna (Skyler), Braylin,
Raymond, Emery, Georgia, Charlee. Dear brother to Nelson
(Denise), Marie (late Carl) Gaudet, Ben (Edith) and Junior (Veronica).
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivan (Annette)
Perry, Addie (late Joseph) Dugay, Myrna (Leo) Perry and Madeline
Perry. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews
and friends.
He was
predeceased by a son, Joseph, his siblings, Alma (late Edmond) Gaudet,
Francis (late Edna) Gaudet, Josephine (late Guillaume) Arsenault and
Gerard Gaudet. He was also predeceased by his father and
mother-in-law, Edmond and Delia Perry, sister-in-law, Eva (late
Nelson) Arsenault and brother-in-law, Edward
Perry.
Resting at the
Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday
evening for invited guests, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass
Monday, July 19, 2021, (invited guests only) from St. Simon and St.
Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Albin
Arsenault, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
As an
expression of sympathy memorials to the IWK Children's Hospital would
be gratefully appreciated.
Edgar was so
well-known in Tignish and area, and due to the Covid 19 restrictions a
virtual drive-by will start at 9:30 a.m. Monday, from the Rooney
Funeral Home to Tignish, turning right on the Chaisson Road, down to
the Tignish Run where Edgar parked his Boat, then back down on Dalton
Avenue to Philip Street, then over to Maple Street, past his late
residence, then to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, for the funeral mass
at 10:30 a.m.
The family
would like to thank everyone who parked along the road to the Run and
participated in the Honour Guard. It is very much
appreciated by the family.
