Peter Ernest Larter passed from this world peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife and children. Cherished husband to Cynthia June (nee Smallman) Larter of Cascumpec. Born in Charlottetown on September 13, 1944, Peter was the son of the late Edward Ernest and Frances Catherine (nee A'Hearn) Larter. 

Treasured father of Angela (Shawn Arsenault) of York, PE, Colleen of Summerside, and Ryan (Kelsey) of Pleasant Grove, PE. Loving Papa to Mason, Charlotte and Baby Larter expected soon. Dear brother to Mary (late Adam) Melynchuk of Saskatoon, SK, Frances (Sonny) Tremblay of Alberton, Stephanie (late Armand) Gaudet of Alberton, Robbie Larter (Rachael Roy) of Charlottetown. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, John Weeks of Alberton, Bruce (Christine) Smallman of Springfield West, Blake Smallman of O'Leary, Natalie (Garth) Waugh of New Annan, Elaine Smallman (Paul Lecky) of Charlottetown, Crystal (Kevin) Adams of O'Leary, Jennifer Smallman (Scott Whitman) of Vancouver. Peter greatly loved his many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by fellow volunteers in numerous organizations, many friends and acquaintances.

He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Anne Weeks, Michael, Norman (late Ellen) and Linda, niece, Sharon Tremblay and mother-in-law, Hilda Smallman.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel for a private visitation (by invitation only) on Thursday evening, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday (by invitation only) from St. Anthony's Church, Woodstock. Interment to follow in Cascumpec United Church Cemetery. 

Our kind, generous husband and father loved people and was energized by others, especially youth. If you wish to honor Peter’s memory with a donation, you may contribute to Hernewood Intermediate School extra-curricular programs for students in need or St. Anthony’s Restoration Fund.
