The death occurred suddenly at his place of residence in Summerside, on Monday, April 5, 2021, of Louis Patrick Reilly, formerly of Glengarry P.E.I, in his 73rd year. Born on April 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Herman Lewis and Carrie Winnifred (MacLean) Reilly.
Dear brother to Ruth (Edward) Fitzgerald and Marie Phillips, both of Alberton. Dear Uncle to Inga (Rodney) Ellsworth of Alberton, Rebecca (Darren) Ellsworth of St. Lawrence, Sean Fitzgerald (deceased), Melody Christie (Jeremy Brownlie) of of Brisbane, Australia, Amber (Andy) Doucette of Miscouche, and Jonathan Phillips Mary Beaton)of Halifax. Great-uncle to Logan Ellsworth, ShayLynn Ellsworth, Ava Ellsworth, Allie Ellsworth, Xavier Fitzgerald-Gallant and his mother Adriene Gallant, Caleb Christie, Hannah Christie, Ethan Christie, Keelyn Broome and Dryden Doucette. Special friend to Mary Gavin and his extended family of the Winter Street Group Home/ Community Connections
He was predeceased by siblings, James Patrick, Ryan Herman and Jean Mary, all in infancy.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from where private visitation and funeral for family and invited guests only will be held on Friday April 9,2021 from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Visitation Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of funeral at 3:00 p.m. Interment later in St. Mark's Catholic Church Cemetery, Burton.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials in Louis's name can be made to the Community Connections Inc./Winter Street Group Home, 287 Winter Street, Summerside, PEI C1N-1N4.
