The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, with her loving family by her side, of Edith Mary DesRoches of St. Felix, PEI, age 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Alcide J. DesRoches. Born on October 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (nee Gallant) Buote.

Loving mother to David (Florence) DesRoches of Nail Pond, Bonita DesRoches of St. Felix, Brian DesRoches of St. Felix, Karen (Barry) Crossman of Albany, Michael (Kim) DesRoches of Greenmount, Derrick DesRoches of St. Felix, Cindy (Dr. Hal) McRae of Kildare, and Julie (Randy) DesRoches of St. Felix. Cherished grandmother to Brody, Amanda, Danielle, Alex, Michael, Hannah, Kalim, Colton, Chandler. Great-grandmother to Taylor, Arinna and Baby Ellis. Dear sister to Kitty (late Robert) Leard of Alberton, Melvin (Bertha) Buote of Anglo-Tignish, Barbara Ann (Ollen) Perry of Skinners Pond. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by sons, Dennis and Phillip, as well as brothers, Paul, Peter, David and Ernest.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, on Monday April 5, 2021, for private visitation for family and invited guests, from 12:30 until 3:00 p.m., then to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 3:30 p.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Western Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be gratefully appreciated.
