The death occurred on
Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the Valley Regional Hospital in
Kentville, with family at her side, of Verna Blanche Banks, of
Wolfville, NS, formerly of Alberton, PEI, age 90 years. Beloved wife
of the late Kenneth Banks, who predeceased her on October 20, 2015.
Born on September 23, 1930, in Alberton, daughter of the late Vernon
and Blanche (Miller) England of Alberton, PEI.
Dearly beloved mother of Shelley (Greg) Mierle, Bracebridge,
ON; Paul (Carrie), Brooklyn, NY; Shannon (Joseph) Kilyanek, Wyses
Corner, NS; Kenneth (Donna), Calgary, AB; Jeffrey (Marion), Wolfville,
NS; and Cordell (Sherry), St. Albert, AB. Dear grandmother to Keir and
Tegan Mierle; Jamie Banks; Sarah and Cale Kilyanek; Conlan (Jenna),
Jared (Isabelle) and Samantha Banks; Alexis Banks; and Michael
(Brittany) and Brian (Laryssa) Banks. Also great-grandmother to Aiden,
Grayson, Adelynn, Madeline, Elise, McKenzie, Macauley, Marlow, Asher
and Ryan.
Verna is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Gary) Rochford
of Alberton, niece, Heidi Rochford-Reid, nephew, Ronald England, and
great-niece and nephews, Megan Rochford-Reid, Dylon
Reid, and
Cooper Mitton, and sister-in-law, Freda Banks,
Charlottetown.
Predeceased by her brother, Ronald England, sister-in-law,
Bernie England, nephew, Kent England, niece, Christy Rochford, sister
and brothers-in-law, Robert, Ruby Smith, Sterling, Stewart, Cody,
Byron, and Earle Banks, and Irving Smith, and by sisters-in-law,
Marilyn Banks, Pearl Banks, Anna Banks, Betty Maloney and Ruby
Smith.
Resting at Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, for private
visitation for family and invited guests on Saturday, April 24, 2021,
from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral on Sunday afternoon from the E. Gerald
Rooney Memorial Chapel, Alberton, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ann Bush
officiating. Interment to follow in the Freeland Presbyterian
Cemetery.

Anglican Church, Alberton, Freeland Presbyterian Church, Freeland, or
the Western Hospital, Alberton, would be gratefully
appreciated.
