The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Saturday, March 13, 2021,with her loving family by her side of Doris Margaret Gillis, wife of the late Clarence Gillis of St. Felix, age 92 years. Born on June 16, 1928, she was the surviving member of the late Patrick Hogan and Susan (nee Nelligan) Hogan family.

Loving mother to Mary Ready (late Howard), Nancy MacKinnon (Archie), Carol Gillis and Edwin Gillis (Janice). Also survived by grandchildren, Nicole Ready Doucette (Leigh), Joel Ready (Kelly), Tammy Stewart (Ricky), Tyson McRae (Kelly), Aaron MacKinnon (Heath), Evan MacKinnon (Anya), Daniel Snow (Jill Norrad), Jaimee Gillis (Chris Moore), Emma Gillis (Scott Dewar), Erica Gillis (Evan Roberts) and Jessica Gillis. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Sadie, Sam, Waylon, Jarvis, Patrick, Joshua, Jacob and Lilah.

Predeceased by her parents, her husband, and daughters Sylvia and Jody. Also predeceased by brothers Walter (Mary), Howard (Carmen), Frank (Amy), Chester (Greta), Earl (Monica) and Alonzo (Betty), and sisters, Edna Bernard/Gaudet (Phil and Fred) and Sister Irma Hogan CND. Also predeceased by brother-in-law, Albert (Lottie) Gillis, sisters-in-law, Annie (Lorne) Cahill, Gertrude (Joseph) McGuire, and Mary Gillis.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for private family visitation for family and invited guests only on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., then to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 3:00 p.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Maplewood Manor Equipment Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
