The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, January 1, 2021, of Pauline Hardy, of Montrose, PEI, age 83 years. Beloved wife of Donald R. Hardy. Born on  February 4, 1937, she was the daughter of George and Birdie (nee Ellis) Coughlin.

Loving mother to Karen (John) Mullin of Cornwall, Clair (Corine) of Estavan, SK, Lynn (Jim) Dixon of Calgary, AB, and Neil (Betty) of Mt. Stewart. Cherished grandmother to Robert, Ashlee, April and Sarah. Great-grandmother to Ashlyn, Arianna, Emma, Cashlyn, Natlee, Watson, Shaylee and Charlotte. Mother-in-law to Donna Burke Hardy of Montrose. Dear sister to Linda (late Calvin) Jelly of O'Leary and Dean (Heather) Coughlin of Toronto.

She was predeceased by her parents, her son, Steven Hardy (in May 2019), brothers, Harry, Lorne, Raymond and Carfield, and by sister, Darlene Coughlin.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, for private visitation Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. for family and invited guests. Funeral Thursday from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel for family and invited guests, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Robert Lockhart officiating. Interment will later take place in the Montrose United Cemetery, when family members from away can attend.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Montrose United Church Cemetery Fund or to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
