The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of
the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, August 27, 2020, with his
loving family by his side, of Stephen Joseph McCue, of St. Louis, age
74 years. Beloved husband to Linda Ann (nee Wedge) McCue.
Born at Alberton on March 30, 1946, he was the son of the late Edgar
and Margaret (nee Gallant) McCue.
Loving uncle to Darrell (Crystal) Chaisson of Harper Road and
their children, Marcus, Montana, Jaylyn, and Cruz, Debbie (Adrian)
MacMillan of Cornwall and their children, Paige and
Emma. He is
also survived by the Wedge Family sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Elaine McCormick of O'Leary, Clarence (Janie) Wedge Jr. of Tignish,
David (Rosie) Wedge of Summerside, and Beverley (Roland) Gaudet of St.
Louis. Dear uncle to Colleen and Brian Gallant of O'Leary,
Blaine McCormick of Charlottetown, Alan McCormick of Charlottetown,
Laura Lee McCormick of Charlottetown, Derryl and Joan Wedge of
Tignish, Danny and Tracy Wedge of Tignish, Michael Wedge of
Charlottetown, Randy and Carol Wedge of Palmer Road, Debbie and Jamie
Fox of Borden-Carlton, Stephen and Scott Wedge of Charlottetown, and
Curtis and Matthew Gaudet.
He was predeceased by his infant son, Shawn Joseph, his
parents, Edgar and Margaret McCue, his father and mother-in-law,
Clarence and Jane Wedge, his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and
Elmer Chaisson, his brother-in-law, Dennis McCormick, nephew, Herb
McCormick, and niece Pamela Gaudet. Stephen will be sadly missed by
his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Stephen worked for over 36 years with the D. Alex MacDonald
Car Dealership Summerside.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from
where private visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 31st from
12:30 p.m. until time of funeral. Private funeral mass for family and
invited guests on Monday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church,
Tignish, for funeral mass at 3:30 p.m. Interment to follow in the
Immaculate Conception Cemetery Palmer Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude
Restoration Fund or to the Immaculate Conception Church Restoration
Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
