Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, Reginald Arthur Eldershaw, of Tignish, P.E.I., in his 94th year. Veteran of the Second World War. Beloved husband of the late Edith Vera (nee MacLeod) Eldershaw who predeceased him on September 26, 2005. Born at Morell, P.E.I., on January 20, 1922, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mathilda (nee Mackay) Eldershaw of Morell.

Left to mourn his passing are his four children: Karen (Jack) Little, of Tignish; Rena (Earl) Matthews, of Elmsdale; Midge (Leith) Murray, of Kensington; Bill (Geraldine) Eldershaw, of Hardy Road. Loving grandfather to: Tara and John Little, Courtney, Jeff and Jenna Matthews, Dana (Sayers), Sarah, and Leah (Marchbank) Murray, Natalie and Fran Eldershaw. Great-grandfather to Maggie, Bryn, Isla, Justin, Trevor, Logan, and Henry. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret (late Frank) McKinnon of Morrell, brother-in-law, Roy (late Peggy) McLeod of Tignish, sister-in-law, Danielle (late Chester) McLeod of Florida. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Wilfred, Cecil, Harry, James, Charles, Bill, Ralph, and Mary (late Roy) Forest.

Reg was employed for 35 years with the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, starting in April 1950, until his retirement in April 1987. He was also a member of the Tignish Legion, Branch #6, of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, from where the funeral will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment to follow in the Tignish United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The Tignish Branch #6 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 5:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Tignish Fire Dept. or to the Tignish Seniors Co-op Home, would be gratefully appreciated.
