Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor on June 22, 2015, of Elva
Mary Doucette, wife of the late Roy Doucette, of Skinner’s
Pond, age 91 years. She was born October 15, 1923, the daughter of the
late John and Regina Perry.
She is survived by her children: Allan (Verna) of
Charlottetown, Sonny, Cathy (Bill Gallien), Jackie (Judy), Gail
(Russell Shea) and Glenn (Carol), all of Tignish. She was dear Nana to
17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Also left to
mourn are her sister Arlean (late Mark Gallant) and her brother
Franklin Perry, both of Tignish. She is also survived by her
sister-in-law, Lydia Doucette, and her brother-in-law, Ben Bernard
(Mary), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
three children in infancy, and siblings: Lena LeClair (late Melvin),
Johnny (late Florence), Lloyd (late Eleanor), Una (late Bob)
Skelhorne, Raymond, and Marie (Bernard). She was also predeceased by
many brothers/sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Resting at Rooney Funeral Home for visiting hours Wednesday
2-4 and 7-9 and Thursday from 1-2 pm. Funeral mass at St.
Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Thursday at 3 p.m., Rev.
Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the Church
cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Tignish
Seniors Home, Maplewood Manor or to St.Simon and St.Jude Cemetery fund
are gratefully appreciated.
The Tignish Council of the C.W.L. will hold a prayer vigil
Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Also the Tignish Branch #6 of
the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Service of
Remembrance at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m.
