Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Sunday, June
7, 2015, with her loving daughters by her side, of Elsie Mary
Ellsworth, beloved wife of the late Ira Ellsworth, formerly of
Ascension, P.E.I., in her 97th year. Born at Piusville,
P.E.I., on August 9, 1918, she was the daughter of the late
Lenus and Adeline (nee Bernard) Christopher.
Lovingly remembered by her daughters, Shirley Feehan, of
Tignish; Joyce LeClair (Joseph Doucette) of Nail Pond;
Barbara (Joseph) Gaudet of Tignish; Joan MacDougall of Stratford;
Eileen (Dale) Ryan, of Tignish; Betty (Allen) Bouchard, of Annondale;
Linda (Patrick) Gavin, of Tignish. She will be sadly missed by her 20
grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and by great-great
grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Exzelia
DesRoches of Tignish. She was predeceased by three sons in
infancy: Roy, Ivan and Kenny, son-in-law Gerald LeClair, by her
sister, Mary (Alex) Pineau, and by brothers, Walter and Ernest
Christopher.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours
Monday 6 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral.
Funeral Tuesday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish,
for funeral mass at 3:30 p.m. Interment in the Church
cemetery.
The Tignish Council of the CWL will hold a prayer service at
the funeral home Monday eveing at 5:45 p.m.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Tignish
Seniors Coop Home or to the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, would be
gratefully appreciated.
