Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, with his family by his side, of Gerard Joseph Doucette, formerly of Tignish, age 81 years. Born at Skinners Pond on April 20, 1933, he was the son of the late Peter A. and Maria M. (nee Perry) Doucette. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Donna (Andrew) Bernard of Tignish. Cherished grandfather to Craig (Krista) of Northport, Chris of Toronto and Coulton of Tignish. Great grandfather to Molly and Max. Dear brother to Mae (Eddie) LeClair of Tignish and Dorothy (late Frank) Doucette of Tignish. Lovingly remembered by his dear friend Linda Arsenault. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Florence Perry, Elmer Doucette, Alvin Doucette, Freda Bernard, Eva Bernard, Frankie Doucette and Reggie Doucette.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Thursday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the Church cemetery.
