The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,
Summerside, on Monday, September 22, 2014, with the love and support
of his loving family, of John Augustine Hackett, of 306 Church Street,
Tignish age 93 years, veteran of the Second Word War. Born at Sea Cow
Pond on October 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Albert and
Margaret (nee Boyles) Hackett. He was predeceased by his loving
wife Margaret (nee McInnis) Hackett in 1968.
Lovingly
remembered by his children, Alvin (Janet) of Tignish, Bruce of
Tignish, Carl of Langley, BC, and Debbie (Ricky) Brich of Langley, BC.
He will be sadly missed by his six grandsons, Jeremy (Julie) Hackett,
Dustin (Daphne) Hackett, Jeff (Wendy) Hackett, Thomas Hackett, Alex
Birch and Evan Birch. He is also survived by eight
great-grandchildren, as well as siblings, Alfred Hackett of Tignish;
Ethel Granato of Toronto; Sister Shirley Hackett, CSM Charlottetown;
Albert (Norma) Hackett of Sea Cow Pond; and Carver (Joyce) Hackett of
Sea Cow Pond. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
He was
predeceased by siblings, Mary LeForte, Mahala Cull, Roy Hackett,
Marion Hackett and Melvin Hackett.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours
Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday morning, September
24th from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at
10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the church
cemetery.

Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
