Peacefully at this home on Friday, March 14, 2014, of Alyre Joseph Richard beloved husband to Anne Marie (nee LeClair) Richard of St. Peter & St. Paul, age 84 years. Born on December 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph Felix and Mary Blanche (nee Perry) Richard. Loving father to Joey (Bev) Richard, Barbara (Bobby) McInnis, Lloyd (Lorna) Richard, Bernice (Alden) Gallant, Eileen (Grant) Butler, Dianne (Leigh) Gallant, Kenneth (Nancy) Richard, Bruce (Tina) Richard, Debra (Trevor) Gillis and Judy (Terry) Skerry.

He will be sadly missed by his 22 grandchildren and by his siblings, Mary Ann Bernard,   Henry Richard, Sylvain (Sophie) Richard, Frances Richard. He is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-laws,Esther LeClair, Beatrice and Raymond Martin, Doris Pitre, Alphonse (Irene) LeClair, Joe (Linda) LeClair, Alice Allain, Viola LeClair, Stella (Fred) Allain and Julia LeClair. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, friends especially his furry friend "Buddy". He was predeceased by sisters, Irene Richard, Viola Perry as well as a sister and brothers-in-law's, Marguerite Richard, Arthur LeClair, Gerry LeClair, Francis Allain, Joseph Pitre, Gerald Perry and Eldon Gallant.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton. Visiting hours Monday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.

The members from the Tignish Branch #6 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a  service of remembrance at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.
