The death occurred peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Sunday, March 2, 2014, with his family by his side, of Wayne Joseph Gallant, of Piusville, PEI, age 61 years. Born on May 17, 1952, he was the son of the late Vincent Joseph and Alice Mary (nee Blanchard) Gallant.

He is survived by daughters, Crystal (Bill) Paynter of Mill River and Valene Gallant (Cory Milligan) of O'Leary. Grandfather to Cameron, Rielley and Ben Paynter. He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Bonnarae (David) Sentner of Piusville, Muncey (Judy) of Piusville, Brenda (Laverne) Drost of Nackawic, NB, Wanda (Russell) Boylan of West Devon, Beverley (Barry) Gallant of Piusville, Rebecca (Eddie) Gallant of Howlan, Paula Hardy (Billy Chaisson) of Palmer Road, and Sherry Blanchard of Mississauga, ON. Special friend to Joyce McCue. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Grace and Eddie Blanchard of Howlan, Joan Blanchard of Bloomfield, Marcie Gaudet of O'Leary, Ed and Emma Boyde of Hamilton, ON, and Yvonne and Jerry Beaupre of Hamilton, ON, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Keith Mallett.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014, from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Danny Wilson, Celebrant. Interment later in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

If so desired, memorials to the Western Hospital, Alberton, St. Anthony's Restoration Fund or to St. Anthony's Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.

Members from St. Anthony's Branch #27 will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home, Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
