The death occured at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with his loving family by his side, of Robert John Bernard, beloved husband of Sue Anne (McHugh) Bernard of Nail Pond, age 59. Born at Alberton, January 23, 1965, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Elaine M. (nee Doucette) Bernard.

Loving father of Brandy and Jordan. Cherished grandfather of Nevaeh, Gracie, and Caleb. Dear brother of Albert (Sheila) Bernard, of Hamilton, ON, Debbie (late John) LeClair, of Nail Pond, Irene (David) Perry, of Nail Pond, and Shelley Bernard, of Hinton, AB. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carmella (late Frederick) McHugh, of Tignish, and by brothers and sister-in-law, Shannon (Claudette) McHugh, of Tignish, Derick (Crystal) McHugh, of Tignish, Lily (Rick) Hudson, of Charlottetown, and Sherri (Lee) Hogan, of Charlottetown. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by a son, Steven, and by a brother, Ronald.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m Funeral Monday morning, from St. Simon and St. Jude, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev John Molina, Celebrant.

Interment later in the church cemetery.
