The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, of Edison "Francis" Crane of Alberton, aged 83 years. Beloved husband of Lona Mae (nee Hunter) Crane. Born at Kinross, PEI, on May 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Gordon and Alice (nee MacLennan) Crane.

Loving father to Alan (Cindy) Crane of Springvale, Sharon O'Halloran of Summerside, Nancy (Paul) Pitre of Kildare Capes and Bethany Johnson (deceased). Cherished grandfather to  Kristin (Steve), Kara (Donnie) Spencer, Shawn (Kelsey), Carolyn (Hunter), Heather (Michael), Ryan (Tesa), Micaela and Xander. Caring great-grandfather (GG) to Layla, Evan, Malaika and Minowa. Godfather to Linda. Dear brother to William (late Jean) Crane and Earl (late Norma) Crane. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances.

He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Alice (MacLennan) Crane and by his father and mother-in-law, Cedric and Lottie (nee Feakes) Hunter.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for visiting hours Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday morning, June 19th from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, for funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon Pike officiating.

Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Alberton, at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Prince County Hospital, Summerside or to the West Prince Caring Cupboard would be gratefully appreciated.
