The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit, Community
Hospital, O'Leary, June 18, 2018, with his loving family by his side,
of Roy Stanfield McLeod, beloved husband of the late Peggy (nee
Lambert) McLeod of Tignish, aged 97 years. Veteran of WWII.
Born at Judes Point, Tignish, on February 12, 1921, he was the son of
the late William and Annie (nee Dawson) MacLeod.
Lovingly remembered by his children, Judy Gaudet (Paul) of
Wilmot Valley, PE and Penny McLeod (Bob Richard) of Lyonsbrooke, NS.
He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jane, Kristopher, Scott,
Alyson and Jocelyn, great-grandchildren, Ceilidh, Maggie, Ben, Alex,
Maverick and Oliver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will
also be lovingly remembered by special friends Claude and Roma Dorgan
and family.
He is survived by a sister-in-law Danielle MacLeod. He was
predeceased by his siblings, Lloyd MacLeod, Edith Eldershaw, Margaret
Strowbridge and Chester MacLeod.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel,
Alberton. Visiting hours Friday, June 22nd, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Saturday morning, June 23rd from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial
Chapel, Alberton, for service at 11:00 am., Rev. Lynn McKinnon
officiating. Interment in the Tignish United Church
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Western
Hospital Equipment Fund or the Tignish Fire Department would be
gratefully appreciated.
