The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday March 3, 2018, with his loving family by his side, of Ivan Joseph Gallant, beloved husband to Esther Mary (nee DesRoches) Gallant, of St. Roch, age 77 years. Born at Nail Pond, P.EI, on September 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Emile and Leonie (nee Perry) Gallant.

Loving father to Vernon (Maria) of Toronto, ON, and Susan LeClair and friend Ricky Thibodeau of  St. Roch. Cherished grandfather to Jeff and Melissa Gallant, Alanna and Lauren LeClair. Dear bother to Emily (late Paul) Flood of Kinkora, Edward (late Helen) of Orillia, ON, Gerard of Toronto, ON; Ernest (late Judy) of Summerside, Howard (Patricia) of Alliston, ON, Reginald (late Theresa) of Mississauga, ON, and Paul (Lauretta) of Charlottetown. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and friends.

The family at this time would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the Western Hospital, Alberton, for the care and concern shown to their beloved husband and father during his extended stay at the hospital.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral mass  from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Tuesday afternoon, at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Brendon E. Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.
