The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Friday, March 2, 2018, of Sylvain Joseph Maillet, of Tignish, age 86 years. Born at Tignish on June 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Leo C. and Eva M. (nee Gaudet) Maillet.

Dear brother to Nelson of Tignish and Cecil (Gloria) of Summerside. He is survived by his nephews, Jonathan (Leila) Maillet of Cochrane, BC and Mark Maillet of Calgary, AB. Great-uncle to MacKenzie and Parker Maillet.

He was predeceased by his parents, and by a brother Gerard.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the Church Cemetery.
