At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, with her family by her side, of Elaine Mary Bernard of Tignish, age 74 years. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Joseph Bernard, who predeceased her on January 12, 1979. Born on December 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Emilie (nee Richardson) Doucette.

Loving mother to: Albert (Sheila) of Hamilton, Ont., Debbie (late John) LeClair of Nail Pond, Ronald (deceased) Robert (Sue Anne) of Nail Pond, Irene (David) Perry of Nail Pond, Shelley Bernard (Gary Vessey) of Medicine Hat, Alberta. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Sherri-Lee Hogan of Charlottetown, her companion William (Billy) Shea, and stepson, Howard Shea of Tignish.

Cherished grandmother to, Gregory, Sarah, Darryl, Josh, Kyle, Steven (deceased) Brandy, Jordan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Bobby, Marcy, Braeden (deceased) and Jackson.  Great-grandmother to her 17 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Herbie Doucette of Maplewood Manor, Alberton and  Albert Doucette of Hamilton, Ont. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

She was predeceased by siblings, Phil, Gilbert, Ernest, Camille, Eugene, Beatrice Gallant and Melvin.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant.

Interment later in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
