The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, with his loving wife by his side, of Leonard Joseph McPhee of Alberton, and formerly of Sea Cow Pond, age 69 years. Loving husband to Marie Gail (nee Gavin) McPhee. Born at Alberton on March 31, 1948, he was the son of the late Peter and Melissa (nee Doucette) McPhee.

He is survived by a brother, Austin (Erlinda) of Ontario, and by a sister Roberta Darsh of Montreal. Son-in-law to Helen (nee Hackett) and the late Atwood Gavin of Sea Cow Pond. Brother-in-law to Brenda (late Paul) McAlduff of Summerside, Robert (Faye) Gavin of Summerside, Dennis Gavin of Sea Cow Pond and Fred (Barbara) Gavin of Sea Cow Pond. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard McPhee, and by sisters, Vivian Pedersen and Eileen Kelly.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant officiating.
