Peacefully at the Mount of Continuing Care, Charlottetown, on
Friday, December 29, 2017, with her loving family by her side, of
Anita Susan Barrett, of Alberton, aged 87 years. Beloved wife of the
late John H. Barrett. Born at Miminegash, PE, on April 11, 1930, she
was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille (nee Pineau)
Doucette.
Loving mother to Yvonne Hogan, Charlottetown, Robert,
Calgary, John (Doreen), Charlottetown, Stephen (deceased), Susan
(Wade) Silliker, North Winsloe, and Ann (Roy) Arsenault, Orangeville,
ON. She was the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren with another on the way. She is also survived by a
siblings Esther (Dick) Michaelowski, of Florida, Adrian (Shirley)
Doucette, of Miminegash, Thelma (late Raymond) Perry, of the Tignish
Seniors Coop Home, Francis (late Bernie) Allain of Brockton, Mass. She
was predeceased by siblings, Rosalyn Peters, Frederick Doucette and
Robert Doucette.
Anita enjoyed a long career at the Western Hospital, Alberton
where she was well-respected and will be missed by the staff and
Sisters who had the pleasure of working with her. She was an active
member of the Sacred Heart Church and volunteered wherever she felt
needed in the community. Anita's gentle nature combined with her
amazing strength compelled her to devote her life to both her family
and faith. Her passing will leave an emptiness in the many lives she
has touched, but she now enjoys the eternal happiness she lived her
life to attain.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours
Monday, January 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, January 2,
2018, from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at
2:00, Rev. Andrew MacDonald, Celebrant. Interment in the
church cemetery.
