The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, December 22, 2017, with her loving family by her side, of Freda Mary Gavin, beloved wife of the late Gerald Gavin, of Anglo Tignish, age 92 years. Born July 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Laura (nee Handrahan) Harper.

Loving mother to: Colleen (Jimmy) Gaudet, of St. Nicholas, Wade (Brenda), of Anglo, Betty Albert of Anglo, Myrtle Poirier of Swan Hill, Alberta, Gerald (Nora), of Tignish, Linda (Ivan) Arsenault, of Anglo, Vieny (late Kennet) Craft, of St. John, NB, and Arlene (Allan) Gallant, of Piusville.

She will be sadly missed by her 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by sons and daughters, Marlene (late Melvin) Arsenault, Joey Joanne, Janet, Paul, Gordon, Laura and Zita. She was also predeceased by five grandchildren, Keishea Gallant, Morgan Gaudet, Liam Albert, Stephanie Handrahan and Ryan Gavin. She was also predeceased by siblings, Daniel Harper, Claude Harper, Grace Nelligan, Laura Gavin, Mary Gavin, Dorothy Doyle, Amy Hogan, Florence MacPhee and Dora Shea.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday, December 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.& 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Friday morning, December 29th, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m, Rev. Brendan Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
